Henry Lin Travel Award
The Henry Lin Travel Award will assist in providing financial support to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, who fit within the broad area of soil science in the form of a travel award, specifically for the ASA, CSSA, & SSSA Annual Meeting. This fund has been generously provided by Jan Qiu (Henry’s wife) and the friends of Henry and Jan in the name of Emeritus Professor Henry Lin, an influential and inspiring faculty member and researcher from Pennsylvania State University.
Eligibility
Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows must apply each year for this award and recipients will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Academic performance, honors, and awards (Undergraduate and Graduate School GPA, etc.) and demonstrated leadership in professional, social, or personal endeavors.
- Prior scholarly activity (publications, abstracts, other instructional or extension activities) will be considered
- A short essay explaining the importance of attending the SSSA annual meeting to their professional development and demonstrating financial need to attend.
- Selection of awardees will be made by the Henry Lin Travel Grant Award Committee
- An individual graduate student or postdoctoral fellow may receive this award only once.
