Assessing Soil Health Webinar Series Part 2

A series of Soil Science Society of America webinars produced in partnership with The Soil Health Institute and sponsored by The Walton Family Foundation.

With support from the Walton Family Foundation and in partnership with the Soil Science Society of America (SSSA), the Soil Health Institute is creating a six-part webinar series on Assessing Soil Health, therein building on the success of the first webinar series on this expansive topic. Using attendee feedback from the previous Assessing Soil Health webinar series, the Soil Health Institute, in partnership with SSSA, will deliver two one-hour webinars that focus on practical aspects of soil carbon measurement. Practical concerns regarding the how and where to measure soil carbon will be combined with an overview of all the components and steps of soil carbon accounting. These two webinars will focus on answering practical questions that soil samplers, Certified Crop Advisers (CCAs), and agricultural retailers have been asking about soil carbon measurement. Two additional webinars will deeply examine the topic of soil health economics by focusing on partial budgets of cropping systems beyond corn and soybean and by providing extensive detail on farmer experiences with soil health management systems. The final two webinars in the series will focus on how soil health may contribute to an agronomic consultancy strategy through the concept of soil health targets and the integration of precision agriculture concepts.
