Congressional Visits Day
Scientists, students, and certified professionals are highly effective advocates for food, agriculture, and natural resources research funding. Our annual Congressional Visits Day gives ASA, CSSA and SSSA members an opportunity to engage with Capitol Hill and show the value and impact of research funding.
Society members with an interest in science advocacy can apply to participate in Congressional Visits Day.
2023 Congressional Visits Day
The 2023 Congressional Visits Day will be held on Feb 27-28, 2023.
We are excited to provide greater numbers of Society members with an opportunity to learn and engage in advocacy! Help make this our largest advocacy event ever!
Awards - Deadline Extended to Dec. 7
ASA, CSSA and SSSA members have two award opportunities to participate in Congressional Visits Day.
Future Leaders in Science Awards - graduate student members
Excellence in Advocacy Award - non-student members (early, mid, or late career members)
All recipients will receive policy, communication, and advocacy training to prepare you to effectively work with members of Congress and their staff.
Application
2023 CVD Award applications will open on November 1, 2022. The deadline has been extended to Wednesday, December 7, 2022.
CVD is an exciting opportunity to use your voice to shape the future of science.
