Soil Judging

National Collegiate Soils Judging Contest

The contest has been held at different host institutions each year since 1961. Soil contestants arrive at various soil pits and are expected to correctly identify, evaluate, classify, and describe the four soil profiles. Learn more about our soil judging contest.

Student Poster

National Research Symposium Contest

Every year at the Annual Meeting, student have the opportunity to showcase their research at the undergraduate research symposium. We host both poster and oral contests for students to compete in. Learn more

Club Poster Contest

National Club Poster Presentation Contest

The purpose of this contest is to showcase undergraduate work in club activities and give clubs recognition for promoting agronomy, crop, soil and environmental sciences on their campus or in their local community. Learn more

Speech Contest

Speech Contest

The speech contest at the annual meeting is designed to highlight students' public speaking skills. Contestants must prepare a five to seven minute speech on one of three topics selected approximately six hours before the preliminary judging. Learn more

National Visual Presentation Contest

The purpose of the National Visual Presentation Contest is to develop students' abilities in preparing visual presentation materials that communicate an agronomic, soils, or environmental sciences story with the intent of educating a small audience on a technical topic. Learn more
